The Perfect Valentine's Day Makeup Looks

Whether you're a simple girl or a glam goddess, your Valentine's day date night makeup should be a show-stopper, a head-turner, an all-round 10/10. So look no further and get some great ideas for V-Day this year!

The first thing is foundation. You'll probably want to stick with the usual foundation, but be sure to set it with a dewy setting spray. This not only helps to stop your makeup from caking, but also gives you an all-round dewy, summer glow. Start with a primer or moisturiser to prep your face for foundation. This one from NYX is great, or try this one from Smashbox.

The brows can really transform your look. If you're going for a simple look like this one below, rather opt for a natural, fluffy brow and use hairspray or a brow gel to set it place. If you're going for the sultry, glam look, go for a more defined brow. The Lotis Beauty brow pencil has an angled tip, perfect for creating natural brows or defined brows, the choice is yours!

Because it's summer, warm up your look with a matte bronze contour to add some shape and dimension to your face, all while looking like a bronzed goddess. Put a little bit of blush on the apples of your cheeks and blend upwards towards the temple. This creates that "snatched" look. For lighter skin tones, go with a peach pink or coral shade, and for darker skin tones, try out a warm plum or wine red shade.

Now onto the focal point of your makeup look. Will it be the eyes, or the lips? Because remember, you can't always get away with both. For the simple, flirty look, go for a neutral eye with a winged eyeliner, and a striking red or playful pink lip, lined with a lip liner for definition and longevity. For the more glam look, go for a gold shimmer on the eye and a neutral pink or nude on the lips.

Lastly, to finish it all off, no makeup look is complete (in my mind), without a little bit of sparkle, some glow, some pizazz, to bring it all together. For lighter skin tones, use this rose gold shade and lightly blend it onto your cheekbones, cupid's bow, centre of nose, tear duct and brow bone to really accentuate those high points.

For the subtle looks, go more glam with the jewellery. For more glam looks, have a smaller focal piece, with other subtle accessories. Subtle looks look gorgeous with sleek, pulled back hair, drawing attention to the face. Do a high pony, or sleek low bun to compliment this look. For the glam looks, do sexy, sleek and straight, or glam curls. You can never go wrong with a little black dress, heels, and a cute bag.

So set that face, do your hair, put on some bling, and get ready to wow not only your lucky date, but the entire room!
