Beauty Events in 2020 You Need To Know About.

What better way to spend your weekend than at an event or festival dedicated entirely to beauty! Sounds like absolute heaven, am I right? These events serve as the perfect spot to shop for your favourite local and international makeup and beauty brands, and are great spaces to network with like-minded people who are just as obsessed with makeup as you are.

You can discover brands you never knew about or support the ones you've been a fan of for years. Take your girlfriends with, pop some champagne, and shop 'til you drop... or until your makeup bag breaks.

The first must-see event is the Beauty Revolution Festival. It is what it sounds like. A festival of beauty. It runs on the weekend of the 13th & 14th of March 2020 in Sandton. There are speakers throughout the day who talk about their journey, their position in the industry, and give advice to young entrepreneurs or people wanting to enter the beauty market.

Not to mention there are makeup masterclasses hosted by some of South Africa's most well-known makeup artists and influencers, such as Rushana Isaacs, Kandy Kane and Mihlali Ndamase, to name a few. These tickets come at an extra price but is definitely something to consider as you can learn so much from these pro's in the space of just an hour.

And of course, there are your favourite local and international brands, such as Swiitch Beauty, Revlon South Africa, Ponds, Lux, Dove, GHD, NYX Professional Makeup, and so many more! There are often discounts on the day and the options are endless! There's also a spot for you to get your nails done, live dancers and music. There are food trucks, drinks available at the bar (Tanqueray Gin was there last year, yum!), and countless Instagrammable moments! Check out some of these pics from last year's event.

If you're a die-hard makeup enthusiast, you can also buy tickets for their BR Artist Package, which includes free entry to all the makeup masterclasses, a goodie bag, networking opportunities with the influencers, and so much more. Doesn't it look like an absolute dream come true? If this is

something you absolutely cannot wait to get your hands on, buy tickets here.

The second big event of the year is the Pro Beauty Expo. They have over 17 000 visitors every year, and that number is only growing. Hosting well-known brands, independent brands, local and international, this is one huge Beauty expo that cannot be missed. The space is massive so you'll have to give yourself a few hours to get through everything.

It runs from the 30th - 31st of August 2020 in JHB, 6th of April in Cape Town and the 7th of June in Durban. There are multiple conventions and business seminars offered by industry professional, food and drinks available, competitions and awards, and of course, countless of brands ranging from wigs, makeup, nail products and accessories, packaging and marketing, and so much more!

And last but not least, Woolworths is hosting International Makeup Artist to the starts; Sir John. He has worked on faces such as Kim Kardashian, Ashley Benson, Chrissy Teigan, and of course, The Queen; Beyonce. The event will include a makeup masterclass by Sir John himself, teaching the basics as well as how to achieve his signature red carpet looks. There will be pop-up stands, champagne, canapés, and goodie bags. Tickets are available on Webtickets and there are a limited number available, so make sure you don't miss out on this exciting event, taking place on the 18th of April 2020.

It is so exciting that so many new events and pop-ups are happening in South Africa. It provides a platform for makeup artists, beauty gurus, and makeup enthusiasts alike to learn from industry professionals, purchase their favourite products at great prices, meet new people, and most of all, have fun! So go check out these events and shop till you drop, drink champagne, take insta-worthy pics and learn pro tips and tricks from the best in the biz!
